Pug Puppy Coughing And Gagging

Hi I am a new pug owner. This is Bacon, he's just a puppy, only turning 3 months tomorrow. He suddenly started coughing and wheezing about 3 days ago. It's like a honking sound, and it happens at random. I visited the vet but he said it was nothing. I'm really not sure if I can trust him because he didn't seem too sure. Can anyone help?
